BIG

Bright Ideas on the Gulf Coast (BIG) was established to serve the students and businesses along Florida's Southwest Coast. Under the direction of the Gulf Coast CEO Forum, BIG and its team of volunteers are creating a mutually beneficial relationship in which colleges and businesses  are so interwoven that they produce the talent pool demanded by the free market economy: Students are successfully employed in their field of study, and the region experiences exponential economic growth.  In turn, that effort becomes a cycle that both attracts and retains the most talented workforce.

BIG facilitates business and academic connections, allowing you to more effectively tap into the intellectual and human capital resources available in our community. We provide support, tools, and education, but the responsibility, follow-up, and work of engaging and advancing remain with your organization.

MIND THE GAP

On November 14th, BIG hosted Mind The Gap: You Are Here at Ringling College of Art + Design. Featuring an influencer panel of 18 local leaders in business, the arts, human services and regional development, the evening was a huge success. Designated networking allowed students and business leaders to meet, connect and find out about the incredible opportunities located on the Gulf Coast.

Special thanks to sponsors Synovus Bank and New Balance Sarasota and to Sarasota Underground, Cross College Alliance, Gulf Coast Community Foundation and emcees Anand Pallegar and Tom Pinto.
